Project Description
Ledcor was the prime earthworks Contractor for construction of a 32 ha site for a future construction camp associated with the LNG Canada project in Kitimat B.C.. Construction works included nearly 1,000,000 m3 granular fill placement, settling pond, diversion of three creeks, and construction of a new pond for aquatic habitat.
SweetTech provided construction engineering services relating to engineering plans for water management during construction. Our unique approach provided strategic sequencing of the consturction works to ensure the earthworks could proceed in a timely manner and maintain regulatory complinance with numerous permit and social license conditions. Our engineering plans included: temporary and permanent designs for erosion control, diversion ditches, pumping, dewatering sumps, settling ponds, and numerous other construction care of water features.
SweetTech also developed a number of cost effective contingency measures to deal with any unexpected or changing field conditions, to ensure construction delays would be minimized.
