Intermediate Civil and River Engineer

Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Professional Engineer in good standing with APEGA or EGBC
- 5-10 years’ experience with civil, hydrotechnical and river engineering related projects, preferably in Alberta or Western Canada
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
 - Work directly under Sr. Engineering staff, supporting projects with engineering effort;
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic or geotechnical data to plan projects;
- Plan and design structures, following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools;
- Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications;
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards;
- Inspect construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project sites;
- Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction;
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labour to determine project feasibility;
- Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions;

Environmental Monitor - Closed

Location: Elkford, BC

 
Requirements:

- Degree or technical diploma in the environmental sciences, geology, hydrogeology or engineering field
- 12-24 months similar experience considered an asset
- Experience with field sampling equipment including Global Positioning Systems and water quality meters
- Experience working around waterbodies and active mine sites considered an asset
- Proficiency in using MS Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Self-motivated and possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Enjoy working outdoors, be physically fit, and able to work long hours
- A valid class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collection and field screening of water samples;
- Daily inspection and reporting of contractors erosion and sediment control measures;
- Prepare written field reports;
- Liaise with laboratories, contractors, and other service providers as required;
- Participation in, and compliance with company Health and Safety programs and policies;
- Assist the contractor to support construction deadlines and meet regulatory requirements;

Junior Civil Design Technician/Technologist - Closed

Location: Calgary, AB
 
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Entry level position, construction or drafting related experience considered an asset
- Experience in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn
- Attention to detail
- Committed team player
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Familiar with UTM grid system, survey files, DEMs, and orthoreferenced photos
- Autodesk AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D certification considered an asset

- Working with Senior Design and Engineering staff to coordinate the preparation of engineering drawings and specifications, quantity and cost estimates

Administrative Assistant - Closed

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting team with all business matters, including errands, as may be required;
- Technical writing and professional document preparation, including letters, memos, reports, proposals, meeting minutes, establishing templates, etc. (proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel is imperative);
- Assist with day to day bookkeeping and accounting duties;
- Create and maintain an efficient filing system for all administrative,  project and financial documents;

Requirements

- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
- 5-10 years of related experience, with CET/RET registration
- Experience in civil design and CAD drafting of civil infrastructure projects (e.g. underground infrastructure and utilities, road work, site grading, drainage, and stormwater management)
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Ability to work with survey data, produce digital terrain models, 3D surfaces, corridors, and profiles
- Good communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities

- Working with Senior Engineering staff to prepare engineering drawings, quantities and cost estimates;
- Successfully develop relationships with engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel;
- Responsible for ensuring engineering drawings and specifications meet established project criteria and applicable standards;
- Utilization of industry specific software and related technologies in design and analysis;
- Assist in the preparation of specific sections of reports, proposals, budgets, project plans, and other supporting documentation as required;
- When necessary, involvement with a variety of agencies for project approvals and permitting purposes; and,
- Meet with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of technical issues, when required.
