Professional Experience

Aaron is a civil engineering-in-training and recent addition to SweetTech, bringing both technical and practical experience to the team. Prior to joining SweetTech, Aaron gained valuable experience working on a range of projects in the Bow Valley as a civil engineering summer student with McElhanney, as well as a construction labourer and heavy equipment operator for Downer Contracting. Having experience working for both Contractors and Consultants, Aaron adds valuable perspective to project delivery and execution. He is currently successfully supporting the Kananaskis River Flood Mitigation. His excellent communication skills give him the ability to understand stakeholder needs and translate them into real-world solutions. 

Select Project Experience


Spring Creek Development Expansion, SCMV, Alberta, 2022 – Provided design support for water, sewer and storm management systems as well as surface works and site grading design. Completed cost estimates for the bidding process including quantity takeoffs of required materials for the development expansion.   

Silvertip Development Expansion, Stone Creek Resorts, Alberta, 2022 – Field engineer performing daily construction inspections and assisting Project Manager through ongoing construction process. Tasks included daily field reporting, ESC monitoring, general field engineering and coordinating with Contractors to solve evolving issues in the field.

The Gateway at Three Sisters Mountain Village, Quantum Place, Alberta, 2022 – Provided support on surface works and bike path design including grading and turning analysis. Completed field inspections and ESC monitoring during ongoing construction.

Spring Creek Development Expansion, SCMV, Alberta, 2021 – Labourer and Equipment Operator for expansion of deep utility systems, storm management systems and road building. Task included installing water and sewer mains, installing drywells and culverts, and building up sub-grade on road expansion and overall site grading.
