Professional Experience

Griffin has over 5 years of experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and design & drafting of civil, water resources, geotechnical, and environmental projects.  His experience includes parking lots, culverts, stormwater drainage, flood protection dikes, retaining walls, sediment removal plans, construction sequencing, mine plans, earthwork volumetrics, and many other projects.  Griffin understands digital coordinate systems, elevation models, and TINS.  He routinely works with surveyors & survey data during pick up and construction layout activities. 

Select Project Experience

 
Grassi Lakes Parking Lot Redevelopment (Main Lot, Overflow Lot, Climbers’ Lot, Goat Creek), 2020-2022 – Designer for 3 parking lot expansions and 1 full conceptual parking lot design, all sites included horizontal and vertical road design, vehicle turning movement analysis, detailed grading, stormwater management design, and hiking trail design. Construction responsibilities included performing construction inspection, and support for trails and facility upgrades, daily field reporting, and solving issues on site with contractor.

Grassi Lakes Trail Refurbishment - 2022 – Designer for trail refurbishment involving redevelopment of hiking trails, and installation of a pedestrian hiking bridge. Construction responsibilities included performing construction inspection, and support for trails and facility upgrades, daily field reporting, and solving issues on site with contractor.

Wood Bay Phase 1 Subdivision Road, 2021-2022 – Designer for a half kilometer long subdivision road. Responsibilities included vertical and horizontal road design, coordinating with surveyor to pick up existing features of the site, working closely with engineers to optimize road design, stormwater management, and preparing engineering drawings for regulatory approval and construction use.

Drumheller Resiliency and Flood Mitigation Office Downtown Dike, 2020-Present – Designer of a 1.2 km flood protection dike along the Red Deer River protecting Downtown Drumheller. Responsibilities include, horizontal and vertical design of the dike, design of stormwater infrastructure, coordinating with surveyors to pick up elevation data across the project, generating figures for public consultation, and producing engineering drawings for regulatory approvals submission.

Evan Thomas Creek & Kananaskis River, 2022-Present – Lead designer / drafter for routine maintenance of sediment traps in Evan Thomas Creek. Responsibilities include design of sediment trap excavation extent, quantity estimates, preparation of regulatory approval, and tender engineering drawings.
