Professional Experience

Aaron is a Civil Engineering Technology graduate working towards his Certified Engineering Technologist certification. He has field experience in heavy civil construction, erosion & sediment control, environmental monitoring and construction contract administration.
 
Working in a variety of environments such as remote, mountainous sites and open-pit mines, he has been involved in high profile projects working with contractors and owners alike. Additionally, Aaron has experience executing the contract on-behalf of the owner as an on-site construction monitor, contract administrator and environmental monitor.
 
Working with Civil 3D, he has experience and is proficient in drafting engineering drawings, erosion & sediment control plans, civil earthworks volumetrics, report figures and base plans for a variety of projects.

Select Project Experience

 
Lower Kananaskis River Redevelopment Project, AEP, Kananaskis AB, 2018 – Ongoing – Drafted detailed design drawings of parking lot expansions and facility upgrades for four existing sites along Highway 40. Including surface creation, alignments and sections. Aided in the preparation of contract tender documents and preformed quantity take-offs for estimated tender quantities.
 
Barrier Dam Day Use Expansion, Alberta Environment and Park, Kananaskis Alberta, 2018-2019 – Field resource for the construction of a parking lot expansion and facility upgrade. Inspected construction progress and QA/QC to ensure project was constructed to the contract specifications. Executed the construction contract of behalf of the client including submittal approvals, RFI responses and change orders.
 
Jura Creek Trail Head Facility, Alberta Environment and Park, Kananaskis Alberta, 2017-2019 – On-site construction coordinator for the construction of a type IIc intersection upgrade and parking lot. Inspected widening of existing highway and installation of a culvert within the Alberta Transportation right-of-way. Completed a project record binder consisting of project documentation for submission to the client.
 
Boulton Creek Loop E, Alberta Environment and Park, Kananaskis Alberta, 2017-2019 – On-site construction coordinator for a full service 34 campsite loop expansion. Executed the construction contract on behalf of the client including: change orders, QA/QC, project schedule, RFI responses, and field instructions. Reviewed quantity claims and progress payment claims for accuracy along with recommendation for payment. Completed drawing revisions in Civil 3D to create a cohesive and constructible IFC drawing package.
Teck Swift Expansion Water Management Structures, Graham, Fording River Operations B.C., 2017-2018– Provided construction care of water services during the construction of multiple water-management structures for the expansion of an open-pit mine operation. Completed on-site water quality monitoring and daily reporting for erosion & sediment controls in place during construction.
Strata Road Upgrade, Whitetail Lake Land Corp., Fairmont B.C., 2017 – Acted as owner’s representative on site for a remote subdivision project. The scope of work was to widen the existing road and install three culverts for a subdivision application approval. Performed daily progress tracking and reporting including quality assurance and control. Compiled documents for a construction record binder that was submitted to B.C.’s ministry of Transportation.
