Professional Experience

Theresa is a certified engineering technologist, with experience working on civil design, transportation design, subdivision development, mine development and reclamation, site drainage, stream diversions, river engineering, underground utility design, site grading, erosion and sediment control (ESC) and heavy civil construction. Theresa has over 15 years of experience working for engineering consultants in the field of civil design. Her experience has focused on urban and rural subdivision design, water management structures, and transportation design.
Theresa holds certified professional status in AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD. She has taught the use of these programs as an instructor at SAIT.

Select Project Experience

Pipeline Road Mine, Jack Cewe, Coquitlam B.C., 2016 - 2018– Lead designer supporting operations at the Pipeline Road aggregate pit. Designed benching, horizontal and vertical access roads, detailed digital terrain models, water management structures, mining sequencing, earthworks volumetrics, and resource estimates.
Flood Mitigation Works, Three Sisters Creek, Canmore AB, 2017 - 2018 – Drafted and compiled drawing package for successful Water Act Approval, and deliverable for flood mitigation works on Three Sisters Creek.
Boulton Creek Loop E, Alberta Environment and Parks, Kananaskis AB, 2017 - 2018 – Lead designer for a campground loop with 34 full service stalls (water, electricity, & sanitary) along with shower and bathroom facilities. Site inspection and support during construction was provided to meet Alberta Parks project goals and vision. Design work on the site included: clearing, horizontal and vertical road design, utility re-design of water and sanitary mains and services, sceptic tank, and lot grading design.
Jura Creek Trailhead Facility, Alberta Environment and Parks, Kananaskis AB, 2017-2018 – Lead designer and drafter for conceptual and detail design of a parking and trailhead facility to promote safe use of the Jura Creek area. Design work was performed to meet and gain approval by Alberta Transportation for the highway intersection.
Southern Alberta Polytechnic Institute (SAIT), Calgary, 2010 – 2011 – Lead designer on civil utility coordination and base drawing creation for coordination with all sub consultants including SAIT. Compilation of all base information including architectural, transportation, underground, asbuilts, survey pickup, & legal. Prepared fire access drawing and approvals for Fire Department and designed (geometric & grading design as well as route options) for new temp fire access off the main street. Grading design, sedimentation & erosion control design, road geometric design. Prepared entire civil drawing package and obtained DSSP and construction approvals.

Bearspaw subdivision, Rocky View County, 2009-2010 – Lead designer for entire subdivision.  Design included rural subdivision design complete with ditches, storm services, water services & storage ponds.  Design of 2 storm ponds in conjunction with storm water management report.  Helped create new standard of rural walkway for MD of Rocky View.  Performed onsite inspections for entire project.
