Stephen Voegtlin, M.Sc., E.I.T.

Stephen Voegtlin started his career as a labourer helping construct the Engineering Building at the University of Calgary, a place where he would later attend classes as a student. He has always been fascinated by science, engineering, and understanding how things work, regardless of the discipline. His early focus was on water resources modelling, which sparked a broader interest in civil engineering and the complete project lifecycle.

At SweetTech, Stephen focuses on project management, contract administration, and construction-related activities. This builds on earlier work in hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, including model development, calibration, and analysis, which gave him a grounding in complex systems and in using data to support planning and design decisions. He enjoys bridging the gap between technical design and field implementation to help projects move from concept through construction.

Stephen is a sports enthusiast who enjoys hiking and travelling to towns across Alberta for weekend getaways with his wife, their daughter, and their dog Tucker.
