Austyn Schutta, P.Eng., CPESC, CESSWI
Background
Austyn Schutta is a third-generation engineer. His father suggested the field, and he ran with it, earning his civil engineering degree from the University of Alberta and working across three continents in roles spanning contractors, owners, and consultants.
At SweetTech, Austyn supports a wide range of civil engineering practice areas, often in remote and environmentally sensitive locations. He gravitates toward impactful projects without obvious solutions, the kind that require organizing teams of experts and navigating complex problems from concept through execution.
Austyn grew up in Edmonton breaking and building things while playing hockey, rowing, cycling, and hiking. Today he lives in Calgary with his wife Vanessa, son Benjamin, daughter Moraine, and their rescue dog Princess Cookie. He coaches hockey, enjoys camping and hiking, and still cheers for the Oilers.
