Shaun Robertson, P.Eng.
Background
Shaun Robertson learned at a young age that he liked pulling things apart to figure out how they worked. He started his engineering career in New Zealand with Fisher & Paykel Appliances, working in whiteware design and manufacturing. The role taught him valuable lessons about teamwork, listening to everyone involved in a project, and considering all ideas no matter how unconventional. When he moved to Canada, his career shifted to designing pump skids and systems for the oil and gas industry, giving him a fundamental understanding of fluids, processes, and equipment that he still uses today.
At SweetTech, Shaun leads mechanical and process engineering work with a focus on practical, creative solutions. He believes all designs should meet three criteria: cost effective, operationally effective, and easy to maintain. His experience spans production facilities, pipelines, hydraulic analysis, valve and equipment sizing, and rotating equipment across green and brown field projects. He has worked extensively with regulatory bodies including the AER, NEB, and ABSA.
Shaun lives to ride bikes in summer, whether dirt bikes or mountain bikes, as long as it has wheels. Winter is for snowboarding. He loves spending time with family and friends riding, camping, fishing, hunting, or playing in the snow.
