From typeface selection to development methodology, discover the collaborative effort and attention to detail that reflects our commitment to quality in every aspect of our engineering practice.
01 — Website Development & Design
This website was built by Connor McKenzie from Kintsu Labs, a digital studio based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Kintsu Labs designs, develops, optimizes, and maintains websites that help service-based professionals attract ideal clients and customers, top talent, and valuable opportunities.
Our process focused on human-computer interaction principles, accessibility standards, and authentic representation of engineering expertise. This integrated strategic research, collaboration, user experience design, and modern web technologies to create a platform that reflects SweetTech's practical approach and years of engineering excellence while serving the needs of prospective clients, partners, and talent across Canada.
If you would like to transform your digital experience through research-backed design that connects with your audience, send us an email at hello@kintsulabs.com.
02 — Platform & Technology
Built with Framer, utilizing modern web standards including semantic HTML, responsive CSS, and optimized JavaScript. The website follows WCAG accessibility guidelines and progressive enhancement principles for optimal performance across all devices and browsers. Framer's advanced Content Management System (CMS) enables easy content management while maintaining professional standards, allowing SweetTech's team to keep project examples, team profiles, and career opportunities current without technical complexity.
03 — Typography
This website employs a carefully selected typeface system chosen for readability, professionalism, and alignment with SweetTech's straightforward, practical brand values.
Geist. Designed by Vercel (2024). Used throughout the website for body text, headlines, and interface elements. This contemporary sans-serif combines technical precision with warm approachability, reflecting SweetTech's engineering expertise paired with genuine client relationships. Geist offers exceptional clarity and maintains excellent readability across all screen sizes and devices.
Montserrat. Designed by Julieta Ulanovsky (2011). Featured in the SweetTech logo and logomark. This geometric sans-serif provides brand consistency and recognizable identity across all touchpoints while complementing the primary typeface system.
JetBrains Mono. Designed by JetBrains (2020). Used for update/status tags on content where applicable. This monospaced typeface was chosen for its exceptional code readability, programming ligatures, and technical clarity which is perfect for timestamp displays and status indicators.
All typefaces are served via optimized web fonts with appropriate fallbacks to ensure consistent typography across platforms while maintaining fast performance.
04 — Imagery & Visual Assets
Professional Photography. Custom photography commissioned specifically for SweetTech, featuring team members, office environments, project sites, and Western Canada locations. Photography authentically captures SweetTech's hands-on engineering approach, environmental sensitivity, and regional presence across Alberta and British Columbia.
Project Documentation. Technical photography, drone footage, and site documentation from SweetTech's portfolio of projects across heavy civil, water resources, and environmental engineering. These images and media represent real work from actual projects, showcasing practical solutions delivered for public and private sector clients throughout Western Canada.
Media Sourcing & Credits. A majority of imagery and footage was captured directly by SweetTech team members. Where applicable, select media—including drone footage, video, and technical imagery—is sourced from project partners, collaborators, and specialized service providers. SweetTech either receives final media files or raw footage that our team processes and edits for project documentation.
Custom Graphics. Custom illustrations and graphic elements created to reflect SweetTech's focus on environmentally sensitive engineering and water management. Visual elements maintain clarity and accessibility while supporting the website's educational mission.
