Description

SweetTech was retained by Alberta Parks to provide engineering services for conceptual design, detailed design, regulatory approvals, Tender support, and construction support including construction contract administration for the redevelopment of four day use areas in the Spray Valley Provincial Park and Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park near the Town of Canmore. The sites include: Grassi Lakes Parking Lot, Grassi Lakes Overflow Lot, Climbers Lot, and the Goat Creek Lot. Refurbishment works included parking area expansion and formalization, trail improvements, and the addition of improved amenities. SweetTech supported this project through project delivery, as the project manager for Alberta Parks and Engineer of Record. This role also included regulatory works, stakeholder consultation, and management of contractor scope and budget. SweetTech’s designs balanced environmental and social concerns with a focus on sustainability, practicality, and accessibility. Unforeseen geotechnical and rockfall challenges encountered during construction were managed with project team.
