Carrot Creek Tower Road Flood Response

SweetTech was retained by the Contractor to perform flood mitigation and environmental monitoring field support during summer rains and flooding at the Carrot Creek Tower Road construction project in Yellowhead County. SweetTech was mobilized to the site to provide a rapid response to stabilize the site and provide regulatory support during the critical phases of the project that remained.

SweetTech first provided engineering support to stabilize the flooded site by developing a hydraulic drop structure and emergency erosion and sediment control (ESC) measures to reduce sediment loading of a fish bearing waterbody. Once the site was stabilized from the immediate flooding risk, temporary ESC measures were developed, construction plans reviewed, wetland assessments, and environmental regulatory support was provided. Environmental monitoring and guidance were provided throughout the project until turnover of the road to Yellowhead County.
