Description
SweetTech Engineering was retained by Alberta Forestry and Parks to expand the Barrier Dam day use area capacity to meet public demand. The expansion aimed to reduce site congestion, compromised user experience, and safety concerns at the popular site.
SweetTech worked with stakeholders to develop a facility that better delineated user groups to Barrier Lake and improved overall use of the area while balancing the sensitive needs of the wildlife and vegetation in the area.
Work included aerial survey, grading plans, slope stability, landscaping design, accessibility considerations, drawing preparation, specification preparation, tender documents, and construction administration and support.
