Description
The Widowmaker Day Use Area is a day user area popular with recreational and commercial user groups accessing the Kananaskis River. The site is located approximately 8 kilometers south of the Trans Canada Highway on Highway 40. Improvements to the area include multiple formalized access points, parking lot improvements, and commercial access road.
SweetTech was retained by Alberta Environment and Parks to provide engineering services for conceptual design, detailed design, tender support, and construction contract administration of a parking, picnic facility, and trails to improve and upgrade use of the area.
SweetTech’s design balanced environmental and social concerns with a focus on sustainibility, responsibility, and accessibility.
